NHS staff work in fear, say Tories

NHS staff often work 'in fear', the Conservatives claimed this week.

Citing a Unison figure of 58,696 physical assaults on NHS staff in 2005/6, or one every 10 minutes, Theresa May, shadow leader of the House of Commons, said: 'Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers deserve our gratitude and respect – but instead all too many of them work in fear for their own safety.'
