NHS's shame on overseas doctors

The Welsh Assembly has agreed to negotiate national terms and conditions for GPs who work in community hospitals.

GPC Wales chair Dr Andrew Dearden said a national framework could be adjusted according to local circumstances in the

60 community hospitals in the country.

He added it may include an automatic opt-out from out-of- hours work.

Dr Dearden said the assembly's approach was 'farsighted' and added he was hoping to reach an agreement within six weeks.

The Department of Health in England has so far refused to broker a national deal.
