At the heart of general practice since 1960

Of course OOH services run by GPs are best

I have worked in the NHS since 1970 and have seen lots of out-of-hours services from the sharp end.

When co-ops came in I worked for one in Cornwall. However, when they were taken over by a huge multinational the GPs lost control and involvement, so moved to a company that is still run by GPs.

When you have ownership of out-of-hours care it's much better for patients, staff and GPs. I believe if co-ops and private firms were compared you would find much greater satisfaction with co-ops.
