One in six in Wales get own health record

Out-of-hours GPs now have access to a summary ‘individual health record' for one in six patients in Wales. The project, which has been in phased deployment since November 2006, costs as little as 75p per patient.

More than 400,000 patients in Gwent can now have their records accessed, with suppliers Graphnet reporting that ‘a very low percentage of patients have opted out'.
