Osteoporosis guidance is still a work in progress

Your article 10 Top Tips on osteoporosis refers to the 'latest NICE guidance, published earlier this month'.

To clarify, NICE did not publish any final guidance on osteoporosis in July - the appraisals for the use of drugs for the prevention of osteoporotic fragility fractures in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who have not yet had a fracture, and on the use of drugs for the prevention of further fractures in postmenopausal women who have already had a fracture, are currently in progress.

Draft recommendations are available on the NICE website.

From Carol Bewick, director of communications, NICE
