Safeguarding is an overarching statutory responsibility covering every aspect of children's commissioning. Important considerations not mentioned in this article are around commissioning of the Healthy Child Programme given a national shortage of Public Health Nurses, children with long-term chronic conditions, CAMHs, problems associated with transition and the increasing cost of unscheduled attendances.
