PCTs warned over violence

The GPC has given PCTs until the end of January to implement schemes for violent patients after its research found 64 trusts had no action plan in place.

The GPC will carry out another survey on compliance after the deadline has passed and could 'name and shame' trusts that are still not taking action.

'PCTs are being performance-managed so it would be unusual for them not to comply,' said GPC negotiator Dr Laurence Buckman.
