Performance rating now uses patient views

You were right to point out that two national newspapers misreported our data on GP access as part of the NHS performance ratings.

But your report was misleading in saying the Healthcare Commission 'admitted moving the goalposts'. In fact, our press release was explicit in stating that the figures were 'the result of a significant change to the way the target was assessed'.

We were delighted to make the change to what is a much more sophisticated measure of performance, which rightly includes the views of patients.
