Pharmacists don't want more duties

How often do we read stories about pharmacies providing unsafe advice to patients?

Which? does this survey every couple of years and always comes up with similar results.

I'm not knocking pharmacy. We have a brilliant local pharmacy that works well with us.

But the pharmacist there isn't interested in taking on chronic disease management - she is running a business.

The drive to give more responsibility to pharmacists is coming from their professional bodies and the Government, not from pharmacists on the ground. If many are unwilling or incapable of selling migraine drugs, God help us now that they can sell antibiotics.
