PMS GPs 'are more switched on than GMS GPs'

Dr John Havard's long-running battle to get PCT funding for a new 'one-stop shop' site for his practice has failed.

At a meeting this week attended by nearly 200 members of the public, Suffolk Coastal PCT announced they would not fund the Saxm-undham Surgery because of the 'increased financial risk'.

The scheme had been backed by health minister John Hutton and local Conservative MP John Gummer.

Dr Havard said he would seek other backing. He added: 'There's been fantastic support. It's so sad the PCT got cold feet.'
