PMS practices win fight over pension payments

Worcestershire PCT has admitted defeat in its long-running battle to avoid paying pension superannuation contributions to PMS practices.

But practices in the county are no closer to seeing the dispute over the 14 per cent contributions laid to rest because the PCT is now claiming it has already paid the money.

The trust's decision comes

after the Family Health Service Appeals Agency in Harrogate found in favour of two practices that lodged appeals.

Dr Simon Parkinson, Worcestershire LMC secretary, said: 'We have won but we haven't got any money out of them. We're going to meet them to work out how to collect it.'
