Practice puts magic intokids' lives

Dr Robin Buckland has helped give more than 100 severely disabled and sick children in his practice area a dream holiday.

The charitable foundation he set up 13 years ago takes a group to Florida for a fortnight each year.

Dr Buckland, who practises in Northam, Norfolk, said: 'I got the idea from a similar scheme that had been run elsewhere and thought I'd try to set up something locally. Going to Florida is magical.'

The children's experiences at Disney World, Universal Studios and other attractions are filmed, so they take home a record of their memories. The parents also benefit by having a break from caring responsibilities.

Dr Buckland said: 'It benefits everybody and helps us to continue to provide better support afterwards.

'I'm honoured to contribute to Proud Of Our Practice. Any recognition, like when someone says thank you, is great.'
