Practices 'unwelcoming to men'

Dr Fergal O'Driscoll

Lowestoft, Suffolk

Your headline 'Investigations on poorly performing GPs jump by 60 per cent' (News, 29 October) suggests that all those under investigation are poorly performing. This seems contrary to the point you then go on to make in the article.

Were I a GP under investigation by the National Clinical Assessment Service, I would find your headline most offensive and upsetting.

Then again it is understandable for you to make this faux pas; it seems any doctor who is complained about is assumed to be guilty even before investigation.
