Private contract poll shows patchy support

The BMA's final private poll into GPs' voting intentions on the eve of the opening of the contract ballot revealed wide regional variations.

Dr Hamish Meldrum, GPC joint-deputy chair, told Pulse the 'patchy support' made the result difficult to call.

He refused to reveal the result of the final internal poll.

LMC representatives last week threw their support behind the contract at their annual conference in a sign of a possible Yes vote.

The result of the ballot is due to be announced this

Friday.
