Private firm puts brakes on GP care plans
By Steve Nowottny
A company with links to almost 1,000 GP partners has been forced to put the brakes on some of its plans for primary care.
The Circle Health partnership said it had made a 'small number' of staff on its business development side redundant and was shifting others to its operatonal side to focus on existing projects, following a slower-than-expected transition from secondary to primary care.
Dr Paul Conley, a Circle Health partner and GP lead, said that although overall the company was 'still growing', investments would be reviewed on a 'case-by-case bases' during a 'period of consolidation'.
