PROMs

Questionnaires that all NHS patients having hip or knee replacements, varicose vein surgery or groin hernia surgery are being invited to fill in, once at hospital. The aim of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) is to help the NHS measure and improve the quality of its care. Answers are held by the NHS Information Centre. Patients are sent a follow-up a few months later. The contract to run the national PROMs programme has been awarded by the Department of Health to Northgate Information Solutions.
