Pulse Action on Depression

Pulse this week launches a new campaign 'Action on Depression' to demand the Government improves access to treatments.

We will be writing to all MPs, including Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt and the health select committee, demanding action on the problems we identified. We will also confront mental health tsar Professor Louis Appleby with our investigation results. To contact Pulse with your views on our campaign call 020 7921 8102 or e-mail: pulse@cmpinformation.com

Our demands:

  • Government pledge to train 10,000 new therapists
  • Maximum two-month wait for treatment for all patients with depression by January 2008
  • Interim GP guidance on how to cope without access to therapy
