Q&O is only way to boost GP income

For those of us with depression, these are challenging times.

I am prepared to bet a fistful of fluoxetine that many PCT underspends on enhanced services will include the non-provision, or deconstruction, of the very psychological and whole- system approaches that NICE now names as vital to management.

Of course when practice-based commissioning appears in April 2005, we will have an opportunity to revisit some of the wonderfully enjoyable and destabilising activities that flourished under fundholding.

Perhaps social prescribing really does now mean that we add SSRIs to the drinking water, with just a smidgen of Sure Start and a dash of Connexions?
