Reaccreditation of GPSIs just lip service

It's all very well introducing closer scrutiny for GPSIs but I predict that many will sail through any new accreditation process if it is run by the PCTs themselves.

PCTs have a vested interest in approving GPSIs, if only to save face, given that it was they who were the ones who approved the positions in the first place. It's likely that GPSIs will be reaccredited even in the minority of cases where they were approved by the PCT with sub-optimal qualifications or experience.

I know there are a lot of fantastic GPSIs doing a great job, but if they are to be reaccredited it must be by someone other than the PCTs.
