Recruit gives GP a break at last

Dr Keith Tattum has had his first time off for nearly a year after he finally managed to recruit a GP.

His practice in Stoke-on-Trent has opened its list and resumed minor surgery after salaried GP Dr Brenda Gorrie joined last month.

Earlier this year Dr Tattum wrote to his 4,300 patients asking them to bear with him while he found a partner to share his workload.

'It has reduced my stress levels significantly,' he said.

'It's fantastic to finish at six and just go home. I can plan things and I'm not exhausted at the end of the day.'
