'Refuse appraisals by staff'

GPs should refuse to take part in appraisals conducted by practice staff, the GPC and RCGP have said.

The recommendation follows revelations in Pulse last week that nurses and health visitors are appraising GPs in Slough.

The GPC said such an arrangement was 'unacceptable' and GPs should insist

on being appraised by fellow GPs.
