Registered list move in three years

The switch to basing GP income on their registered lists rather than census population figures is likely to happen within three years, according to the GPC.

Negotiators said GPs would be able to clean their lists by taking on the quality information preparation directed enhanced service in the contract.

The service focuses on ensuring GP records are accurate and up to date to meet the quality and outcomes framework.

GPC chair Dr John Chisholm said: 'There is a move towards registered population and that is current Government policy.'
