Report slams DH over training fiasco

A new report from the Health Select Committee has slammed the government over it's handling of the Modernising Medical Careers fiasco.

The report said the Government failed to address problems with the system which left hundreds of junior doctors unable to continue their training.

It described the Department of Health's leadership as 'totally inadequate' and its implementation of the changes as 'inept'.

Dr Hamish Meldrum, Chairman of the BMA, said the report was a ‘damning indictment of the Government's failure to listen' to doctors.
