CQC confirms decision to close two GP practices

Comment

According to the original article.. "The CQC told Pulse said there were concerns, either raised by the GMC or by the practices themselves, about the standards at the two practices, but they had been served the notices because they failed to respond to correspondence from the regulator." So the closure would appear to be simply because of failure to respond, not any concerns raised by the practices and/or GMC - which seems odd: how confident is anyone that the correspondence has been received by the practices concerned? And have the PCTs and successor LATs within which the practices are situated been notified or involved? After all, if the patients at the two practices are to be left without a GP in 3 weeks time, *someone* will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing care of the patients - which is not CQC's responsibility.
