GPs should police out-of-hours care for the elderly, suggests expert group

Comment

... but, GPs are already responsible for making sure the out-of-hours services are of sufficient quality and access by being members of commissioning groups!! What exactly is being proposed here? It seems that it is merely a statement reflecting the current situation... The emphasis has to be on making sure the CCGs commission OOH services of sufficient quality and that these services have the correct level of funding.
