BMA will continue to support revalidation despite concerns over funding for remediation

It's time the BMA grew a spine and stood up to this useless piece of regulation that is almost certainly doing more harm than good. Revalidation has been weaseled in by a political agenda to weaken doctors. Though checking that medics are training themselves sounds seductive this program lacks a sound evidence base. The shear bureaucratic weight of it takes us away from the job of looking after patients that the NHS is so desperately under-resourced for. What the BMA should in fact be doing is auditing the harms that this over-elaborate and unwanted scheme is doing. Its time for heads to roll.
