Q&A: Avoiding a bad appraisal (1 CPD hour)

Revalidation is such a waste of everyone's time and I do not know a single colleague who believes it succeeds in any meaningful aim - and least of all to ensure that doctors are 'safe' for the public. The whole excercise is pointless and appears to be a desperate and poorly thought out measure designed by the GMC to fool the public and its masters in government that the GMC is doing 'something' to ensure that doctors are good when we all know that this process does nothing of the sort. It is such a load of nonsense. I am not against some sort of revalidation process, but the current exercise is fatuous, futile, and flatulent.
