GPs held responsible for patient complaints over NHS data-sharing project, says ICO

Can BMA plan a campaign on this?. What the government is doing is nothing short of an information war on GP`s. We have to pick our battles carefully and this is one where BMA can take a stand and win both patients and press over. I think if GP`s threaten quit NHS over this patients will be on our side. Our patient participation group felt the government was wrong to impose this as an opt out rather than an opt in. As some one said "If we don`t stand for something, we will fall for everything".
