GPs' responsibilities amount to 'good customer service', says information commissioner

The ICO still doesn't get it. It is the government that has made a law that gives the govt the power to grab this information without explicit consent. Yes we are the "data controller" but we have no control, GPs will be in breach of the law if they try to prevent this immoral and illegitimate data theft. That ICO is a useless chocolate teapot. He should be telling the govt that it is they who are in breach of data protection and that must be opt-in, but he won't bite the hand that appointed him will he, so he turns on GPs and gives us the headache instead of the real villain.
