Health chiefs considering putting antibiotic prescribing targets into GP contract


put targets for each doctor in hospital. pt are likely to get co-amox in hosp, IV fancy antibx on first instance even when first line are not tried: HARD to challenge as presumably these are very ill pts neglected by th GPs who didnt prescribe the antibx in first instance: Dailyblame headline primary care easy target again as scripts attached to GP names/surgery names. complete nonsense Oh: antibiotic league tables and KPI are exists!!!!!!! for primary care.
