Health chiefs considering putting antibiotic prescribing targets into GP contract

"There was an overall 4.1% increase in total antibiotic prescribing by GPs over the four-year period between 2010 and 2013, but there has been a drop of 3.5% from 2012 to 2013;" Govt stats show England population increased by 2.5% (52.2 to 53.5 million) 2010-2013 so actually we appear to be prescribing FEWER abx than in 2010. Why are media blaming GPs instead of the other prescribers (don't bother answering, I can guess)
