NHS England to spend a ‘much higher proportion’ of budget on general practice over next five years

Ah, you gotta love it. The "Five Year Backwards Plan" would seem more apt. What a novel idea- consultants employed by primary care and GPs employed by the hospital. Let's do the minor ops list in emergency theatre and nurse the ITU patients in the surgery...There is no need for a new deal and trainees aren't failing to choose general practice because it is underfunded. They are failing to choose it because the profession has been slandered and dismantled piecemeal by repeated political meddling. What a load of rubbish.
