Should GPs be paid to meet antibiotic prescribing targets?

Comment

anyone who thinks GP's will get support must be incredibly naive. Please give us an example where this has happened. Look how cancer audit data was used - rather then supportive it turned into another way of bashing GP's. It is these well meaning but rather silly comments which are so far removed from reality. Has there been any substantive evidence to say the problem lies within primary care - after all the judgement of inappropriate use is a retrospective one. What support is there right now for GP's..absolutely none. Surely we need to have more considered and nuanced approach then those described above.
