Outlook bleak as trainee applications hit new low

Allow newly qualified GPs to open their own GP surgeries and this will ensure that they will have their independence right from the beginning of their career. Currently the prospects for a newly qualified GP look so bleak. They are forced to join a pre-existing surgery (like a forced marriage) either as a salaried or a partner - but have no option to open their own surgeries. Their morale therefore goes down and start to become disillusioned. Once all GPs are allowed to open their own GP surgeries, there will be massive influx of medical students taking up General Practice as their preferred career choice.
