Can GPs survive yet another pay cut?

This isn't just tinkering with numbers. Many GP partners, particularly those who are clinicians rather than wannabe empire-builders, have seen very real decreases in their annual drawings. I fully appreciate that we need to look after our own financial interests. But d'you know what? I could live with a pay squeeze were it not for two things. The first is the number of pointless hoops that we have to jump through to justify our existence and secure even that reduced income. And the other is the way the NHS as a whole appears to be disintegrating in front of our eyes while our political leaders live in a world that's completely detached from what we and our patients are experiencing.
