Majority of junior doctors will vote down contract offer, online poll suggests

Dear Juniors, good luck to you all. The future of hospital medicine is in your hands. If you choose to go along with the new contract and its worse terms, worse money, worse deal for work life balance, it is difficult to see how this will be sustainable under the present system. If however the new contract is rejected, then at least this system will not go down the swanny so soon. Actually the existing contract is pretty ropey anyway so any new contract has to have something positive for the doctors somewhere. If the only change is negative, it is difficult to see how anyone would go along with it! This includes even those who are on the verge of becoming consultants as I assume they will still appreciate having juniors to work for them. Keeping emotion out of it would be good, but when the pressures are too high, you can see how things erupt as the work situation is not condusive to enjoying a reasonable life.
