GP trainee numbers on the rise, but targets still missed

MASSIVE SPIN being used in portrayal of THESE FIGURES I'M AFRAID. BMA should ask for the fill rates for THE NUMBER OF PLACES FILLED IN TERMS OF "TRAINEES BEGINNING THEIR TRAINING PROGRAMMES" in this current year and previous years. The figures and percentages published by HEE above are much higher because they include trainees who have a) deferred entry to august 2017 and b) been recruited in round 2 this yearwho were always going to be starting in Feb 2017. There is a massive ditortion of the truth here. PLEASE PLEASE BMA. Ask for the figures in the manner I have suggested above from all 4 nations compared to their desired fill requirements. Do not let HEE get away with this major manipulation of what the truth really looks like. The difference will be truly huge.
