NHS England advertises £30m contract to bring over 500 GPs from EU

I don't have any problem with more colleagues from EU to come here to do GP jobs . At least , in principle, it is less worrying than Health Education England sacrificing the budget to train GPs for more physician assistants. But , always a but: (1)Criteria of assessing competence will have to be transparent and sensible. Swift and hastily exercised recruitments will ,no doubt , be dangerous as well as casting an irony and embarrassment to RCGP examination to qualify local GPs. There has to be a happy medium for these issues. (2) This weak government is still obsessed with its political mentality of clinging onto the ideology of a smaller state(in terms of interventions) and passing all essentials to the market, which in the case of NHS , with going down the line of going out for tendering and procurement(Many thanks to Health and Social Care Bill!).After the despicable saga of Capita , lessons are still refused to be learnt by this pathetic government. (3) Public opinion on austerity has evidently changed , economy and public sectors are of a chicken and egg , intricate relationship. Keep playing a 'small' state ignoring vital domestic issues , arguably led to disasters like Grenfell Tower .
