Don't denigrate profession in front of trainees, RCGP chair tells GPs

There is a world of difference between denigrating individual GPs or GPs in general, and denigrating the present job working as a GP in the NHS, whether as a partner, locum or salaried doctor. Quite frankly I would not be acting honestly by encouraging any medical student or junior doctor to work as a GP in the NHS, and the future job appears to be even worse. It is my duty to educate future potential GPs. Why should their professional enjoyment be denied when there are still more enjoyable jobs as a doctor. If the Govt / RCGP wants to improve recruitment of GPs make the job less stressful and more rewarding. The job will then sell itself without any lying by GP 'sales teams'.
