Medicines optimisation schemes simply rob Peter to pay Paul – GPs should boycott them


Thank you. Yes, ideally I see us and pharmacists co-existing, each doing our own thing. We prescribe, they dispense, for example. And these are obviously linked, yet distinct. We can work together, for example when I prescribe something they can't dispense for whatever reason, then I need to know about it. But it's not my role to interfere with the dispensing! Consulting fees and the minor illness scheme are fascinating, when looked at from the all-you-can-eat buffet that is General Practice. Maybe a subject for another time!
