Preparing patients for the long wait

Are you SERIOUS, Dr Hogg ?! I have not worked in NHS for 10 years (currently sitting in outer Brisbane GP-land) If my patient needs a CT abdomen I get the reported result on my screen in 48hr. If it is urgent, I phone the radiologist THIS MORNING, and patient and report return THIS afternoon back to my medical centre. Honestly, when I glance back at your bloggers reports I have a similar feeling to when I was a teenager and we used to hear about lines around the block in the Soviet Union for the last loaf of bread, or risking prison for some black market chocolate. How on earth is ANY good and timely medicine practised in the UK these days? Sorry, but I just keep trying to compute what I have just read: "16 weeks to get routineCT scans"
