Statin use may increase risk of type 2 diabetes, study finds

The only possible 'causal' link I can think of is that sub clinical myalgia due to statin use makes people less active. What this headline suggests is that taking statins makes people sit about on their arses eating starchy carbohydrates, which is the 'cause' of T2DM. Or we could accept that Type 2 Diabetes isn't actually a 'disease' and that it's a late symptom of metabolic disease. Humans didn't evolve eating 3 meals today with starchy carbohydrates flooding our bodies with glucose, so anyone suggesting that a 'healthy diet' contains starch should be out there feeding mangoes to polar bears too.
