Are GPs suffering from ‘sepsis fatigue’?

Comment

Diagnosis of sepsis is up because hospitals get paid more when they code it. I've seen this in action on a trip to local medical admissions ward. Same for AKI. Same for 'new diagnosis' of dementia made in patients with 10 year history on donepezil. It's a game to bill more money from CCG coffers into black hole of secondary care at expense of community. Hospital say 'we may as well get paid well for the patients admitted'. Yes, but that money comes from somewhere. Try finding a District Nurse!
