Learning the hard way – how a homeless patient made me confront the limits of a GP


I think medically this patient had a reactive depression. Management could consider referral to the CAB/local housing association, and JOBcentre, who should have been able to check for jobs with linked accomodation. Temporarily he could live at a homeless shelter, but that would only be short-term. I am not sure that a significant amount of CBT should be necessary,other than brief counselling interventions.
