Hospitals to cancel operations and appointments until end of January

The tide has slightly changed on this battle ground that we are being confined. NHSE is now prepared to play ‘bad guys’ in front of the public. The health secretary is still hiding away from the front stage if he has any opportunity to avoid ‘sensitive matters’ . Stevens plays the virtual health secretary. No new money is coming our way. Obsession of A/E attendance remains. CCGs receive decrees to implement ‘unpleasant’ plans. The number of over the counter available drugs will go and it is FP10 no more. If NHSE wants to play Hades, Hades will need subordinates on the frontline. For those who represent us , the choice is between helping NHSE to reveal, create this new ‘reality’ risking to sacrifice the traditional identity of GPs in this country (turning that into the scapegoat for the failure of the state to maintain NHS) AND protecting the principles, virtues , hence telos of general practice as we know all these times. I guess there is a more devious approach of playing the former in the right hand but also the latter in the left hand. Political wisdom is very in demand for this new year....... The Last Jedi(going to watch the third time) very much emphasised the dichotomy and balance of both the sides of the force .........
