GPs call for national body to take control of primary care

The article is wrong wrt motion re sessionals and indemnity - the agenda committee didn’t submit or suggest any of the motions in the agenda. ALL motions are put forward by the Welsh LMCs. Unless they are deemed incompetent in Way they are written (eg don’t make sense) or are already GPCWales policy then they they will be put in agenda booklet for debate. We have been asked why this was “allowed” in agenda. Sometimes where similar / allied motions are submitted the agenda committee will link them together into a hybrid motion. In our view, if somebody develops a motion and the LMC put it forward then just because it is sensitive, contentious or even potentially divisive it is important to have a full and frank debate discussing the relevant issues and not sweep it under the carpet. We look forward to an interesting day of debate which will inform our policy direction for the next year.
