Health secretary 'deeply concerned' about implications of GMC court ruling

Is suspect this case has implications for hospital liability that go beyond the individual doctor. This ruling is probably a major threat to Mr Hunts business model because it set a precedent. If doctors can be struck off for doing what hospitals order them to do then the corollary is that the trusts will face vicarious liability for death that occur in understaffed rotas?
