Rural and deprived area GPs quit the BMA over new Scottish contract

Dr Alan McDevitt, chair of Scotland’s GP Committee said the new GP contract was given ‘clear backing by the profession’. Now there's a politician, not a doctor. Let's remind ourselves that the ballot saw the new Scottish GP contract backed by 71.5% of participating GPs, while 28.5% were opposed. However, only 39% of eligible GPs voted. Not a mandate then was it? Now we will see more and more rural GPs handing their contract back. Enjoy the implosion urban Scottish GPs.
