'One in five' GP antibiotic prescription is inappropriate, claims PHE

"despite experts advocating for 10%. " Who ARE these experts? If one could find out, I think they should all be made to work six months as face-to-face GPs and then, and only then, look at the issue. I am old enough to have heard stories of doctors working in pre-antibiotic days. In ENT it was normal to do one emergency mastoidectomy per day. Of course, the "experts" counter that by saying, with no decent evidence, "Well the Streptococcus was more virulent then". So, withold 50p's worth of Amoxicillin and risk striking off after a GNM conviction? No thanks!
