London CCG offering £250k to evaluate GP at Hand service

Reading the FT a couple of weeks ago there was an article in the weekend section entitled ‘How to blow your £500,000’ bonus. There were many comments calling out how offensive this title was but many others aserting that £500,000 ‘ isn’t all that much’ for a ‘hard working banker’ and doesn’t buy an awful lot these days. I think this sheds an interesting light on the current desperate state of medicine in the U.K. £250,000 on a study certainly sounds like an awful lot of money to me. But I’m a GP, the people who run our country and head up the upper tiers of our pseudo meritocratic society, live in a different realm to the rest of us. Small wonder there is so much general discontent amongst those holding the wrong end of the shitty stick.
